Tiffany is thrilled to be part of the new school, bringing her passion for art and graphic design to the students in her community.

At Horizon Junior High, Tiffany will be teaching 3D Art for 8th graders and 3D Design for 9th graders, allowing her to explore new art projects and ideas. Her hands-on approach to teaching, whether it's working on the pottery wheel or creating cultural looms, helps students discover their own artistic passions.

Tiffany's enthusiasm for art is contagious, and she loves watching her students' creativity blossom. Her dedication to her craft and her students makes her a valuable addition to Horizon Junior High, where she looks forward to making a positive impact in her community.

Karla Alpizar - Dual Language Spanish Immersion Teacher

Karla Alpizar became a World Language teacher at Horizon Junior High School after completing her master's degree in Education at Weber State University. She was drawn to Horizon because it offered the perfect opportunity to lead the Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Spanish department.

Karla is excited about the new school culture and the beautiful building at Horizon Junior High. She loves sharing her culture and helping students improve their Spanish proficiency. Her motivation comes from seeing her students grow and become curious about the language. Karla enjoys building relationships with her students and creating a safe, collaborative, and kind classroom environment. Her goal is to inspire students to love Spanish and the world through fun and challenging classes.

Becky Perkins brings extensive experience to Horizon Junior High, having opened Legacy Junior High 16 years ago. She is excited to help establish new traditions at Horizon and is enthusiastic about the school's inclusionary approach for students. Becky looks forward to working with new faculty and students, creating a supportive and engaging environment.

Motivated by a supportive administration and team, Becky enjoys trying new things to enhance student learning. She loves the junior high setting and finds joy in working with fun, creative, and hilarious students who keep her on her toes and make her laugh every day. Becky is committed to staying at this level of education to continue inspiring her students.
