A historic night for the Ducks.
Last night, Horizon Junior High officially opened its brand-new campus in West Point—the first three-story school building in Davis School District history.
The evening began with a welcome from Principal Brett Sims and the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by remarks from Superintendent Dr. Dan Linford, Board of Education member Emily Price, and West Point City Mayor Brian Vincent.
The ribbon-cutting countdown was led by Principal Sims, and the honor of cutting the ribbon went to the Horizon Junior High Student Body President.
Families then toured classrooms, found their schedules and met with teachers during Back-to-School Night.
This school is more than brick and mortar—it is a dream for this growing community and the beginning of a new era for the Ducks.
We are grateful to Davis County voters for approving the 2022 "Building Generations" bond, which made this incredible milestone possible.
